I believe in guitar orchestras. They are vital to the guitar and its development as a vehicle to spread goodwill. Guitar orchestras have become a passion of mine and the focus of my doctoral dissertation. It has also become an integral part of my career, where for past 5 years I have been director of the Boston Guitar Orchestra. I have seen the positive effects that the ensemble has had on its members, from having shared learning experiences, to discovering inner strength, to making life long friendships. The ensemble brings people from all walks of life together in a noble and important enterprise with positive effects not just for the art of music, but also for an increased awareness of community. Currently, I am the director and conductor of two guitar orchestras, the Boston Guitar Orchestra, and the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society Orchestra.
